Current Skincare Routine

Hey guys, today's post is going to be about my updated skincare routine. So about a month ago my skin was like 'girlfriend I hate the skincare and makeup products you've been using so I'm going to be spotty and make your face red and blotchy', so I cut out the middleman, no makeup and no toning, spot treatment or serum and see if my skin recovered, and it did after about a week, I made sure that I was drinking enough and sleeping well, which I think I made the healing process speed up which was definitely a bonus. I only used a cleanser and a moisturiser as I still wanted to have some kind of routine but not as heavy duty as what I had before.

So for cleanser I have been using the Garnier Fresh Essentials Refreshing Cleansing Lotion which you can buy from Boots and most supermarkets. I love this cleanser because it removes all traces of makeup even waterproof mascara and I find that it doesn't leave my eye area irritated at all, it smells amazing, very refreshing and isn't overpowering at all. I have also noticed that a lot of people have started to compliment my skin saying how clear it is which is such a relief after dealing with almost the worst skin for 2-3 weeks. The texture of this product is light and smooth which made application really easy(I put a blob on a cotton wool pad and then massage it onto my face, these pads from Boots are the best ones ever)

And for moisturiser I have been using the Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser. I love this because it makes my skin feel so smooth. As with all of the Simple products it's odourless. It is thick and white but becomes colourless when applied onto the skin and it takes 3-4 minutes for it to sink into the skin. And if you have any dry patches this will work really well for you, as it provides such a deep moisturisation.

Paris #3: Skincare

Hey guys, so to conclude my Paris posts, I thought I would end it on skincare.

To remove the bulk of my make up, I used my Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water.

Then to cleanse my skin and remove the last bit of my make-up,  I used my Garnier Clean and Fresh Complete Cleansing Milk which I decanted into a travel sized bottle.

After cleansing my skin I then used my Simple Soothing Toner to tighten the pores.

After that I then dabbed Clinque's anti-blemish solutions spot treatment gel to any spots that I had.

Then after I dealt with the spots I then used a serum and then my Simple Light Moisturiser.

Lush Haul and Mini Review

Hey, hope you're well, today I thought I would show you a mini lush haul and review the items that I bought.

The first thing I bought was the bubblegum lipscrub. Now, I have wanted to try this for soo long but I've only just got round to buying it, it retails at £5.25. I do think it's a bit overpriced for what you get as it is only a small pot and you could easily make it at home. Although it smells AMAZING, it reminds me of my childhood and it's so sweet smelling. I absolutely love the colour too. Because the majority of it is sugar, I felt really weird rubbing it into my lips but it tasted so nice afterwards, my lips looked and felt so nice and smooth and it got rid of the dry skin, I think this would be perfect for in the winter when it gets cold and you're more susceptible to dry/chapped lips. But, it is super crumbly and you can't apply it without a mirror as the sugar gets everywhere and if you didn't have a mirror it would look like you had eaten a doughnut and not licked the excess sugar off.

The next thing I bought was the mask of magnaminty which is a green face mask, the big tub(315g) retails for £8.75. It smells AMAZING again, it smells just like mint ice-cream which I absolutely love. It contains peppermint oil which 'stimulates the blood vessels just below the skin to get things moving' which helps to wake up sluggish/dull skin. The mask applies really smoothly as it's quite thick in consistency and it also contains ground aduki beans which is a natural exfoliator. After using this my skin feels so smooth and clean. I use this mask once a week to give my skin a booster. The lady on the counter suggested that I refrigerate it as it would have a better cooling effect and I agree it was so nice to have a cooling face mask.

I think these will be my future go-to face mask and lip treatment as I'm thoroughly enjoying them at the moment. Are you liking these products? Do you have a favourite Lush face mask or lip scrub?

Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion, Soothing Facial Toner and Replenishing Rich Moisturiser

Today I'm reviewing three products from Simple from their Kind to skin range:
My skincare routine was quite bad before using these products I would only ever use a facial scrub and face mask when I needed it or I wanted a pick me up, bearing in mind I had quite good skin up until last September when I started to break out really easily and my skin looked awful. So I went and bought some Simple products I'm not sure why I bought them but the range caught my eye. They seemed straight forward about what's in them and how it helps the skin.

When I wore make up I never used a proper make up remover I would only ever use face wipes as they were so convenient and quick to use but since finding out that they were bad for my skin.(high levels of preservatives, alcohol and anti-bacterial agents to keep them usable, the harsh chemicals irritate the delicate eye area, bad for the environment etc.) I stopped using them regularly but I do still use them when I go camping as my skincare routine gets a bit mixed up and I never have enough time to use a cleanser, toner, moisturiser.

The Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion makes my skin feel so good and fresh. I usually apply it with a cotton pad and use a grape size amount and wiping away from my face. I saw instant results with using this, my skin looked so much cleaner and I could see all the gunk from my face on the cotton pad. It has quite a thick consistency to it, which I see it as a good thing as it stays on the pad and it makes it easier to apply. It's also really good for removing eye make up as well.
The soothing facial toner makes my skin feel refreshed and tightened. I apply it in the same way as the cleanser. When I apply it in the morning it makes me skin feel ready and awake for that day, and at night it makes my skin feel really clean.
The replenished rich moisturiser makes my skin feel so smooth. As with all of the Simple products it's odourless. It is thick and white but becomes colourless when applied onto the skin and it takes 5-8 minutes for it to sink into the skin. I'd recommend this product for the winter months and overnight as it gives a deep moisturisation. I think for when it gets warmer you will only need the light hydrating moisturiser.

After a week of using all these products I could definitely see a difference in my skin and people were commenting saying how good it looked. I love these products so much as using these have helped me to see that a skincare routine does make a big difference to your skin and that it is important.

These products are amazing and I'm thinking of getting the Spot Zapper, Eye Make-Up Remover and the Light Hydrating Moisturiser.

What are your favourite Simple products?
